In this video, ConnectedCoaches member and Senior Fellow in Sports Coaching at the University of Winchester Richard Cheetham talks about what makes a good coaching session. Using one of his students’ gymnastics coaching sessions on how to perform a dive roll, he emphasises the importance of: • establishing the learning outcomes • creating a positive coaching environment • being creative in your sessions • making the sessions engaging, active and enjoyable • reflecting on what you have learnt.
Richard goes into more depth on the supporting blog post ‘What makes up a good coaching session?’ which was posted in the ‘Welcome and General’ Group https://www.connectedcoaches.org/spaces/10/welcome-and-general/blogs/press-release/232/what-makes-up-a-good-coaching-session
