I'm looking to compare the volume of training that we expect of players in our talent pathway (judo) compared to other sports, particularly at u-18 national standard. A rough number of hours a week/types of sessions that you expect your athletes to do would be great.
I coach track - sprinter, hurdlers and multieventers.
Some are more social than others, but the 18 year olds competing at a good national standard and looking for international vests are doing 5 or 6 sessions a week, usually around 90minutes each, so a total of about 8-9 hours.
That's made up of 3 track sessions, 1 or 2 heavy gym sessions and 1 other gym session that's more focused on general movement skills and prehab.
